Chequer Stitch
The Chequer Needlepoint Stitch is a popular stitch that creates a checkered or checkerboard-like pattern. It's a simple and versatile stitch that can be used to fill large areas or create borders.

- Stitch Structure: Pattern, Parallel, Flat, Diagonal, Condensed, Composite
- Related Stitches: Tent Stitch, Scotch Stitch
- Recommended for: Large areas

- Start by making a tent stitch at the starting point
- Then, parallel to the first stitch, make a sequence of stitches passing over two, three, and four canvas intersections
- We will start decreasing the size of the stitches so we will continue with one that goes over three and then over two
- To finish the square, we will make a last tent stitch
- Next to this square we will make a new 4x4 square with tent stitches only, in total 16 tent stitches
- In a row you must alternate between the two squares, keeping in mind that the first square must have the tent stitches square above, below, and on both sides and vice versa
