Cashmere Diagonal Stitch
The Diagonal Cashmere Needlepoint Stitch is a variation of the traditional Cashmere Stitch, adding a diagonal element to the design.

- Related Stitches: Cashmere Stitch, Byzantine Stitch, Mosaic Diagonal Stitch
- Recommended for: Small areas, Large areas, Backgrounds, Flowers
Diagonal Cashmere Stitch Instructions & Diagram

- Secure your thread on the backside of the canvas by making a small knot and insert the needle from the back of the canvas to the front at the starting point
- Make a diagonal stitch by skipping a canvas intersection, creating a diagonal stitch. Insert the needle from front to back
- Make a new stitch from the lower canvas hole of the first stitch to the canvas hole on the right of the second stitch, skipping two canvas intersections
- Repeat another stitch like the previous one immediately below
- Move the needle two canvas threads down and one to the left, then insert the needle from the back to the front
- Make a stitch diagonally to the canvas hole below stitch number six
- Repeat all steps keeping in mind that the bottom stitches of each group of 3 must be in the same column
