Parisian Stitch
The Parisian Needlepoint Stitch is a beautiful and versatile needlepoint stitch commonly used for creating textured backgrounds or filling large areas of the canvas.

Parisian Stitch Instructions & Diagram

- Secure your thread on the backside of the canvas by making a small knot.
- Insert the needle from the back of the canvas to the front where you want to start to stitch.
- Insert the needle from the back of the canvas to the front where you want to start stitching.
- Move the needle vertically upwards, skipping a hole in the canvas, and insert the needle from front to back at the next intersection of the canvas.
- Bring the needle back down from the back of the canvas and insert it into the lower right intersection immediately diagonal to the first stitch.
- Move the needle up to the upper right intersection to the second stitch. This will cause the first stitch to skip 1 row and the second stitch to skip 3 rows.
- Repeat the process as many times as necessary.
