Scotch Crossed Stitch
The Scotch Crossed Needlepoint Stitch is a variation of the basic Scotch Stitch, commonly used to create geometric patterns and textured designs. This stitch adds an extra layer of diagonal stitches to the regular Scotch Stitch, resulting in a visually distinct effect.

- Start by making a tent stitch, then go one canvas hole down from the first stitch and insert the needle (back to front)
- Parallel to the first stitch, make a sequence of three diagonal stitches, the first skipping two canvas intersections, the second skipping three, and the third skipping four canvas intersections
- Then, make a new sequence of three diagonal stitches, the first one skipping three canvas intersections, the second one skipping two, and the last one is a tent stitch
- Move the needle four canvas threads to the left and three up, then make a long diagonal stitch through the center of the block to the next canvas hole of the last tent stitch made
- Then make a sequence of three diagonal stitches below the previous one, the first skipping three canvas holes, the second skipping two and the last skipping one canvas thread
