Stem Stitch
The Stem Needlepoint Stitch creates a continuous line, often used for outlines, stems, and other linear elements. You can use this stitch as a straight or curved line.

- Stitch Structure: Solid-line
- Recommended for: Small areas, Flowers

- Decide on the length of the stitches (this time, we'll make stitches over two canvas intersections), then insert the needle from back to front
- Make a diagonal stitch (in the desired direction) by skipping two intersections of the canvas, then (from behind the canvas) move the needle one canvas intersection backward
- Insert the needle from back to front, be careful when picking up the needle not to pass through the thread of the previous stitch but to the side
- Repeat the process as many time as needed
