Hourglass Cross Stitch
The Needlepoint Hourglass Cross Stitch is a variation of the basic cross stitch that creates a striking hourglass shape. It's often used to add texture and visual interest to designs.

You can see the diagram of this stitch below.
- Insert the needle from back to front and stitch diagonally (from left-down to top-right) to four canvas threads up and two to the right
- Move (behind the canvas) six canvas threads down and stitch another stitch to four canvas threads up and two to the right
- Then move two canvas threads down and repeat the whole process (steps 1 and 2)
- On the last stitch move the needle four canvas threads down and repeat all the stitches to the opposite side (from right-down to top-left)
- This will create an "X" shape, then on its top make a horizontal stitch skipping two canvas threads (from the left corner to the right corner)
