Hungarian Diamond Stitch Instructions & Diagram
You can see the diagram of this stitch below.
Left to right:
- Start making a vertical upward stitch by skipping a hole
- Lower the needle and pass it through the hole at the bottom right of the hole where you made the first stitch
- Again make a vertical stitch upwards, this time skipping 3 holes in the canvas
- Lower the needle again and pass it through the lower right hole on the third stitch
- Make a new vertical stitch upwards, this time skipping 5 holes
- From now on, repeat the process but this time decrease the number of holes skipped, from 5 you must go to 3 and then to 1
- To make the next diamond you will have to skip one row behind the canvas and start on the next row, that will be the beginning of the diamond of the bottom/top row
- Repeat the process as many times as necessary
