- Insert the needle (from back to front) and make a small knot to secure the thread behind the canvas
- Then, make a sequence of four long stitches (two at the ends extending further to the sides and the other two further inwards) using the same canvas hole for the top point, simulating a ∧ (mountain) pattern
- Within the sequence the length of the stitches does not have to be the same, you can make some a little longer than others depending on the space you have available
- Continue making triangles simulating mountain peaks to create an interesting look
