Corduroy Stitch Instructions & Diagram
You can see the diagram of this stitch below.
- Secure your thread on the backside of the canvas by making a small knot and insert the needle from the back of the canvas to the front at the starting point
- Make a stitch diagonally upwards to the right by skipping a canvas intersection
- Insert the needle into the canvas hole below stitch number 1 and repeat step 2
- Repeat these stitches until the column is complete
- Then at the end of the column (at the back of the canvas), skip three lines of the canvas to the right and one to the bottom, then insert the needle from the back to the front
- Perform a diagonal stitch upwards to the right by skipping a canvas intersection
- Using as limitation the right column where we made the previous stitch and the left column already made, we make longstitch diagonally inside those two columns
- Repeat as many times as necessary
Horizontal Corduroy Stitch
The Horizontal Corduroy Needlepoint Stitch is a variation of the basic Corduroy Stitch, creating a textured horizontal pattern
Corduroy Stitch Instructions & Diagram
You can see the diagram of this stitch below.
- Follow the same steps of the original Corduroy stitch horizontally, making the first row with stitches that skip an intersection, the second row with diagonal stitches in the opposite direction of the desired length, and repeat in the same order.
