Oriental Stitch
The Oriental Needlepoint Stitch creates a delicate, lacy pattern resembling a row of small detached chain stitches.
Stitch Details:
- Stitch Structure: Flat, Pattern, Parallel, Diagonal, Condensed
- Related Stitches: Oriental Straight Stitch, Milanese Stitch
- Recommended for: Large areas

- Start making a tent stitch
- Parallel to the previous stitch, make a diagonal stitch that skips two canvas intersections, then one that skips three, and finally one that skips four
- Continue making the triangles on that diagonal line until the row is completed
- Then, make the same triangles in the opposite direction, the guide to make them will be that the longest stitches (skip four canvas intersections) should be next to each other
- The remaining spaces between the triangles will be filled with three stitches that skip two canvas intersections each
