Oriental Straight Stitch
The Oriental Straight Needlepoint Stitch is used to create straight lines. It's a simple yet versatile stitch that can be used for outlining, filling shapes, or adding detail to designs.
Stitch Details
- Stitch Structure: Straight, Parallel, Flat, Condensed
- Related Stitches: Oriental Stitch
- Recommended for: Large areas, Water, Mountains

- Make a horizontal stitch jumping two canvas threads, then make one jumping four canvas threads (count one more canvas thread for each side), and then make one jumping six canvas threads following the same logic
- Continue to create this stitch pattern vertically downward
- Then make horizontal stitches that skip three canvas threads to the right of the two smaller stitches made in step 1 abutting each other
- At the end we must make the same triangles as in step 1 but in the opposite direction, pointing downwards
- The horizontal stitches that skip six canvas threads must be next to each other
