- Insert the needle (back to front), count three canvas threads up and one to the right, then insert the needle again (front to back)
- Go to the next canvas hole diagonally down to the left and insert the needle (back to front) and make a tent stitch down to the right
- Go one canvas hole down and repeat the steps as many times as necessary
