Originally from Paris, Andrea studied fine art and then printed textiles at University of the Arts in London. She worked as an Art Director before founding Borneo Studio in 2016. She made the jump to full time artist after the birth of her first child in 2018 and currently works from her studio in East London.
In her compositions, Andrea Mongenie plays with light, texture and movement. She expresses the interaction between shapes and colours, balance and discord. Each of her paintings is an invitation to warmth and tranquillity. Her work is a tribute to the complexity of human nature, bringing contradiction, chaos and imperfection together to create beauty.
