Florentine Stitch
The Florentine Needlepoint Stitch is a traditional needlepoint stitch characterized by repetitive geometric patterns. It is often used to create intricate designs and colorful motifs.

Florentine Stitch Instructions & Diagram

- Secure your thread on the backside of the canvas by making a small knot.
- Insert the needle from the back of the canvas to the front at the starting point.
- Move vertically up the canvas and insert the needle from front to back at the desired stitch length.
- Lower the needle again and insert it 2 canvas intersections below and one to the left of the first stitch made.
- Make another vertical stitch upwards with the same length as the previous stitch.
- Repeat this process until you have four stitches done. Next, you will need to start going up.
- Repeat the process, creating a series of interconnected Florentine Stitches. Each stitch should be offset (two rows) from the previous one, creating the characteristic zigzag or flame pattern.
